CALLING ALL CHEFS

Kelp in San Remo is one of the fastest evolving venues on the Bass Coast.

In our 4 years of operation we have gained a reputation for great service and consistently good food.
We are a little 40 seater restaurant with an additional 20 seats in the warmer months.

Our menu is inspired by Central and South American style flavours and ingredients. This is matched with a seasonal cocktail bar and clean basic decor.

Our two main Chefs are heading off on adventures and we need to fill their place. Our current head chef & owner is in the need of a passionate and innovative right hand person to help us take Kelp to the next level. We are open minded, easy going people looking for someone alike to join us in our cozy kitchen.

We would love if you:

  • Have minimum 2 years in a kitchen environment

  • Have strong knowledge in culinary techniques and modern cooking

  • Can comfortably run a service with the head chef not present

  • Hold certificates in commercial cookery

  • Hold certificates in food safety

  • Live in the Bass Coast / Gippsland areas

  • Are an Australian or NZ Citizen

  • Can commit to a 5 day working week

  • Are kind natured and easy going

  • Are clean, organised, creative and have a true love for cooking

We’d get you onto things like:

  • Learning all the ins and outs of how Kelp runs

  • Collaborating closely with the head chef - share ideas & help us be the best we can be

  • Managing inventory and stock

  • Supervising & training kitchen staff, ensuring consistent execution of recipes, cleanliness & safety

  • Contributing to menu development & recipe testing

  • Fostering a positive and supportive work environment

We currently run a 5 day week: Tuesday - Saturday from 5pm.

We are flexible with terms of employment for the right person. Full time or casual etc..
